Naming and input error advisories

Following are naming and input error messages you might see in Advisory. When you click the Advisory message, you're taken to the relevant section for more information.

"Names" in this topic refer to the internal Edge "name" for an entity, not the display name.

 

Invalid API proxy name

This message means one of your API proxies has an invalid name.

Naming requirements: 255 characters max, letters, numbers, spaces, hyphens, underscores, periods

 

Invalid cache Name

This message means a cache has an invalid name. You can control cache naming in the following places:

Invalid consumer/API key

This message means a consumer key (API key) assigned to a developer app is invalid. When associating developer apps with API products, Edge auto-generates consumer keys and secrets. However, you can also create custom consumer keys and secrets, as described in Import existing consumer keys and secrets. Use that procedure to generate a new custom consumer key to replace an existing invalid key.

Invalid email address

This message means an email, such as the email of an app developer, is invalid. You can modify app developer emails in the following ways:

Naming requirements: Must conform to standard email naming conventions.

 

Invalid entity name

This message means an entity name is invalid.

Naming requirements: 255 characters max, letters, numbers, spaces, hyphens, underscores, periods

 

Invalid environment name

This message means an environment name is invalid. To see where environment names are set in Edge for Private Cloud, see Creating an Organization, Environment, and Virtual Host.

Invalid file name

This message means that the name of a Node.js script target in an API proxy's XML definition is invalid.

Naming requirements: 255 characters max, letters, numbers, hyphens, underscores, periods, and other special characters like !@#$%^&{}[]()_+-=,.~'`

 

Invalid IP address

This message means that an IP address is invalid.

Naming requirements: Must conform to standard IP naming conventions.

 

Invalid KMS entity

This message means that a key management service (KMS) entity is invalid.

Naming requirements: 255 characters max, letters, numbers, spaces, hyphens, underscores, periods, and other special characters like $\

 

Invalid mask config ID

This message means the name attribute on a <MaskDataConfiguration name="default"> is invalid. For more information on mask configurations to mask sensitive data in debug sessions, see Data masking and hiding.

Naming requirements: Only the ID named default is allowed.

 

Invalid organization name

This message means that the name of an Apigee organization is invalid. To see where organization names are set in Edge for Private Cloud, see Creating an Organization, Environment, and Virtual Host.

Invalid pod name

This message means that the name of a pod in an Edge installation is invalid. For more information about pods, see About Planets, Regions, Pods, Organizations, Environments and Virtual Hosts.

Invalid region name

This message means that the name of a region in an Edge installation is invalid. For more information about regions, see About Planets, Regions, Pods, Organizations, Environments and Virtual Hosts.

Invalid resource type

This message means the name of a resource type is invalid. Resource files have their own specific resource types, including the related directory names in an API proxy's file directory structure. Keystore or truststore certificates also have types, such as PEM and DER.

Invalid resource file name

This message means that one of your file or resource names is invalid, such as an API proxy resource file name, or a keystore or truststore certificate or alias. See Resource files for information on API proxy resources. See Keystores and Truststores for information on keystores and truststores.

Invalid revision number

This message means one of your API proxies has an invalid revision number.

Naming requirements: 5 characters max, numbers only

 

Invalid role name

This message means that the name of a custom role is invalid. For more information on roles, see Creating custom roles in the UI and the Create Roles in an Organization management API.

Naming requirements: 255 characters max, letters, numbers, hyphens, underscores, periods

 

Invalid safe string

This message means you have an invalid keyspace type, ring type, keyspace group name, customer name, tenant product name, or tag in Cassandra. For more information about Cassandra keyspaces, see About Cassandra Replication Factor and Consistency Level.

Invalid step name

This message means one of the policy names in your API proxy configuration is invalid. For example:

Invalid OpenAPI spec URL

You can generate an API proxy by providing a URL to an OpenAPI specification. This message means that the URL to the specification is invalid.

Naming requirements: Must conform to standard URL patterns. The only allowed protocols are http, https, and ftp.

 

Invalid URL path

This message means that one of your URL paths (without the protocol) is invalid. For example, you set a URL path in an API proxy <BasePath> and in API product resource paths.

Naming requirements: Must conform to standard URL patterns. URL paths do not include the protocol.

 

Invalid virtual host name

This message means that the name of a virtual host in an Apigee environment is invalid. To see where virtual host names are set in Edge for Private Cloud, see Creating an Organization, Environment, and Virtual Host.
