Create an overrides.yaml file

The Apigee hybrid installer employs templating to describe how the hybrid components will be deployed to your cluster. To override the default configuration values used by the templates, you can provide a configuration override file file called overrides.yaml to specify the values that you want to use instead of the defaults.

The installation steps that follow will explain how to configure overrides.yaml to override defaults for various use cases.

To create an overrides.yaml file:

  1. If you haven't done so, extract the contents of the hybrid installer software that you downloaded previously.
  2. Change to the root directory of the unzipped distribution. This document refers to that directory as hybrid_root_dir. For example:
    cd apigeehybrid_beta
  3. In the top level of this directory, create a new text file called overrides.yaml.
  4. Copy the contents of one of the sample configuration files into overrides.yaml. The samples provide a starting point for your hybrid configuration.

The sample configuration files are located in hybrid_root_dir/examples.

The following table describes the example configuration files:

    Example file Description
gke-non-production.yaml Configuration override for a GKE installation. Recommended for testing only.
gke-production.yaml Configuration override for an advanced GKE installation. Recommended for production deployments.
ossk8s‑non‑production.yaml Configuration override for a CNCF-conformant Kubernetes installation. Recommended for testing only.
ossk8s-production.yaml Configuration override for a CNCF-conformant Kubernetes installation. Recommended for production deployments.

For more information about the samples, see Sample override configurations.
