You can pause and resume the Apigee Sense enforcement of protection you put in place when you took action on requests. When you pause enforcement, Apigee Sense preserves the state of your protection configuration. When you resume, protection enforcement continues with the settings in place before you paused.
You might want this level of control if you want your API proxies to ordinarily receive requests with enforcement off, but you want the ability to quickly turn on enforcement in the event of an attack.
To pause protection enforcement
- Open the New Edge experience.
- In the New Edge experience, click the Analyze menu, then click Sense.
- Click the Protection menu, then click Status. With protection enforcement enabled, the Protection Status page should display a list of IP addresses and their action status.
- On the Protection Status page, click Pause Protection Enforcement.
In the prompt that appears, click Pause Protection Enforcement to pause enforcement.
The Protection Status page should refresh to no longer display IP address action status.
To resume protection enforcement
- Open the New Edge experience.
- In the New Edge experience, click the Analyze menu, then click Sense.
- Click the Protection menu, then click Status. With protection enforcement paused, the Protection Status page should display only a message that protection enforcement is paused.
On the Protection Status page, click Resume Protection Enforcement.
The Protection Status page should refresh to display action status for IP addresses.
